Our 12 Klaviyo alternatives for 2026 are Omnisend, Mailchimp, MailerLite, Brevo, Shopify Email, ActiveCampaign, Drip, Privy, Attentive, Postscript, Braze and Iterable (one pick, because both are enterprise platforms), and Listrak. The right one depends on why you’re leaving. Omnisend is the closest like-for-like swap for a Shopify store. Attentive and Postscript are for SMS-first brands. Braze and Iterable are for app-heavy enterprise.
Most “Klaviyo alternatives” lists are written by the alternatives. This one is written by a Klaviyo agency, so read it with that bias in mind. It is also why we can be blunt about the thing vendor lists never say: a lot of brands looking for a Klaviyo alternative don’t need a new platform. They need to fix the one they have.
Below, each pick is grouped by why you would switch, with pricing re-checked on each vendor’s own site on 10 October 2026. Then the section no vendor will write: when not to switch.
The short answer
The best Klaviyo alternative depends on why you’re leaving. For cheaper all-round ecommerce email, Omnisend. For simple newsletters, Mailchimp or MailerLite. For SMS-first brands, Attentive or Postscript. For enterprise and apps, Braze or Iterable. For retailers wanting managed service, Listrak. If your real problem is cost from a bloated list, clean the list before you migrate.

If you want something cheaper or simpler
1. Omnisend: best for cheaper all-round Shopify email and SMS
The closest like-for-like alternative. Email, SMS and web push for ecommerce, with pre-built automations and an easier learning curve. As of 10 October 2026, Omnisend’s free plan covers 250 contacts and 500 emails a month; Standard lists $16 a month for 500 contacts; Pro lists $59 a month with unlimited email; since 4 May 2026, new accounts buy SMS separately on Pro, from $0.007 per message. It also advertised a free migration offer for Klaviyo customers in September 2026. We’re an Omnisend partner as well as a Klaviyo partner, and when Omnisend is the better fit, our Omnisend agency team builds on it.

Where it beats Klaviyo: price at small list sizes, web push (Klaviyo does not offer web push), and good-looking default templates. It isn’t an automatic home for categories Klaviyo restricts: Omnisend’s acceptable use policy (updated 30 April 2026) prohibits prescription medications, including drugs sold for research purposes, so for peptides and other regulated products the platform’s policy is checked and its written sign-off obtained first. Where it doesn’t: segmentation depth, predictive analytics and the size of the integration ecosystem. Read: Klaviyo vs Omnisend and our Omnisend pricing breakdown.
2. Mailchimp: best for simple newsletters and non-ecommerce
The familiar all-rounder. Free for up to 250 contacts; Essentials from $13 and Standard from $20 a month at the entry contact band (Mailchimp pricing, USD, 10 October 2026).

Where it beats Klaviyo: simplicity, newsletters, non-ecommerce and service businesses. Where it doesn’t: event-level ecommerce data, flow logic and revenue reporting. Read: Klaviyo vs Mailchimp and our Mailchimp pricing guide.
3. MailerLite: best for budget newsletters and creators
A clean, affordable newsletter tool. Free for 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails a month; Comfort $12 a month for 500 subscribers; Power $25 a month (billed monthly).

Where it beats Klaviyo: price and ease for creators and content-led brands. Where it doesn’t: ecommerce-native data and SMS. Read: Klaviyo vs MailerLite and our MailerLite pricing guide.
4. Brevo: best for big lists you email rarely
Priced on emails sent rather than contacts. The free plan allows 300 emails a day; Starter is $9 a month for 5,000 emails.
Where it beats Klaviyo: large lists you email infrequently, because you are not paying per stored contact. Where it doesn’t: ecommerce segmentation and flow depth. Read: our Brevo pricing guide.
5. Shopify Email: best for very small Shopify stores
Built into Shopify. The first 10,000 emails a month are free, then $1 per 1,000.

Where it beats Klaviyo: cost and zero setup for a very small store. Where it doesn’t: almost everything past basic automations, as we explain in Klaviyo vs Shopify Email.
If you need different capabilities
6. ActiveCampaign: best for automation plus a sales CRM
Marketing automation with a built-in sales CRM. Starter is $15 a month billed annually at 1,000 contacts; the pricing page doesn’t list month-to-month prices.

Where it beats Klaviyo: B2B and service businesses that need deals, pipelines and sales-rep workflows. Where it doesn’t: ecommerce-native data and product-level personalisation. Read: Klaviyo vs ActiveCampaign, our ActiveCampaign pricing breakdown, and Klaviyo vs HubSpot if you need a full sales CRM.
7. Drip: best for small ecommerce lists that want unlimited sends
Ecommerce-focused email with unlimited sends up to 30,000 people: $39 a month for up to 2,500 people. Drip’s pricing page lists email, social and on-site pop-ups; it does not list SMS.

Where it beats Klaviyo: a simpler, predictable price for small ecommerce lists. Where it doesn’t: SMS, predictive analytics and ecosystem. Read: Klaviyo vs Drip and our Drip pricing guide.
8. Privy: best for pop-ups first, light email
Started as a pop-up tool and grew into email and SMS for small stores. Email plans start at $30 a month for up to 1,500 mailable contacts with unlimited sends; a pop-ups-only plan starts at $24 a month. Privy also integrates with Klaviyo, so many brands use it for capture only.

Where it beats Klaviyo: pop-up and on-site display flexibility for small teams. Where it doesn’t: flow depth, segmentation and data. Read: Klaviyo vs Privy.
If SMS is your main channel
Two specialists below. For the wider shortlist, including Klaviyo and Omnisend SMS, see our best SMS marketing platforms guide.
9. Attentive: best for SMS-first brands at enterprise scale
The SMS-first specialist, with pricing “based on list size and messages sent” and only available through sales. Yotpo named Attentive as a migration partner when it shut down Yotpo SMS & Email (formerly SMSBump) at the end of 2025.

Where it beats Klaviyo: SMS-specific opt-in tools, conversational features and managed SMS strategy. Where it doesn’t: email, a unified profile, and total cost. Read: Klaviyo vs Attentive, our Attentive pricing guide and Klaviyo vs Yotpo.
10. Postscript: best for Shopify brands where SMS leads
The Shopify-first SMS specialist. Starter has no platform fee but a $49 monthly minimum, with SMS at $0.009 plus carrier fees; Growth is $100 a month and Professional $500 a month with lower per-message rates.

Where it beats Klaviyo: SMS depth for Shopify brands where text drives most retention revenue. Where it doesn’t: it is SMS only, so you still need an email platform. Read: Klaviyo vs Postscript and our Postscript pricing guide.
If you’ve outgrown ecommerce email
11. Braze and Iterable: best for app-heavy enterprise brands
Enterprise customer engagement platforms for brands with apps, in-product messaging and large data teams. Neither publishes prices; Braze prices on monthly active users and “Action Credits”.

Where they beat Klaviyo: app and in-product channels, complex cross-channel orchestration and data warehouse-first architectures. Where they don’t: time to value, cost, and out-of-the-box ecommerce flows for Shopify brands. Read: Klaviyo vs Braze.
12. Listrak: best for large retailers wanting managed service
A cross-channel platform “purpose-built for leading retailers”, covering email, SMS/MMS/RCS, push and web personalisation, with identity resolution and a services-heavy model (dedicated client success, strategists and managed campaign execution, depending on plan). Pricing is demo-only. If what you want is the managed service rather than the platform, the other route is Klaviyo plus an agency: see our list of the best email marketing agencies.
Where it beats Klaviyo: a managed-service relationship for large retailers without a big in-house team. Where it doesn’t: self-serve speed, transparent pricing and the size of the partner ecosystem. Read: Klaviyo vs Listrak.
Not on this list: SendGrid and Twilio, which are developer infrastructure rather than marketing platforms. See Klaviyo vs SendGrid. And Yotpo SMS & Email, which Yotpo decommissioned on 31 December 2025 (see Klaviyo vs Yotpo).
Why brands look for Klaviyo alternatives
From the audits we run, the reasons come in a predictable order:
- The bill went up. Klaviyo bills on active profiles (anyone you can email). Since 18 February 2025 your plan must match that count. Brands with years of unengaged contacts saw their tier jump.
- It feels too complex. Small teams using 20% of the platform feel they are paying for 100%. That’s a skills gap, and an email marketing consultant closes it faster than a migration.
- SMS ambitions. Brands where text is the primary channel want a specialist.
- Wrong business model. B2B, service businesses and newsletter publishers who were never Klaviyo’s target customer.
Reasons 3 and 4 are good reasons to switch. Reasons 1 and 2 usually aren’t.
When NOT to switch from Klaviyo
This is the section vendor listicles leave out. Don’t migrate if:
Your bill is high because your list is bloated. Suppressing profiles that have never engaged often drops you a tier or more. Suppressed profiles don’t count toward Klaviyo billing, and Klaviyo now surfaces suppression recommendations for inactive profiles. Do this first; it costs nothing. See how to clean your Klaviyo list.
Your revenue is low because your flows are weak. A default abandoned cart flow on a new platform is still a default abandoned cart flow. Platform migrations reset your learning, your data history and often your deliverability warm-up. Fix the flows that carry revenue before blaming the tool.
Your emails are landing in spam. Deliverability problems come from authentication, list quality and sending behaviour. They migrate with you. Run our deliverability checker first.
You’re about to hit peak season. Never migrate ESPs within eight weeks of BFCM. Flow rebuilds, IP and domain warm-up, and segment reconstruction take longer than anyone budgets.
You rely on predictive data. Klaviyo’s predicted lifetime value and churn risk need at least 180 days of order history. Move platforms and that history-driven targeting takes months to rebuild, if the new tool offers it at all.
The quick test: if the reason you’re leaving is something a better-run account would fix, fix the account. If it’s something Klaviyo structurally doesn’t do (web push, a sales pipeline, app messaging, SMS-first depth), switch.
How to choose
| If your situation is… | Consider |
|---|---|
| Shopify store under a few thousand contacts, lean budget | Omnisend, Shopify Email |
| Newsletter or content business | Mailchimp, MailerLite, Brevo |
| B2B or service business with a sales team | ActiveCampaign, HubSpot |
| SMS drives most retention revenue | Attentive, Postscript (alongside an email platform) |
| App-first or enterprise, big data team | Braze, Iterable |
| Large retailer wanting managed service | Listrak |
| Growing DTC brand with repeat purchases | Stay on Klaviyo and fix the account |
The bottom line
There are good Klaviyo alternatives, and for some businesses switching is the right call. But the most common reason brands shop for one, a rising bill and flat revenue, is usually an account problem wearing a platform costume.
If you’re unsure which side of that line you’re on, our free Klaviyo audit will tell you in dollars what the current account is leaving on the table. And if switching is the right answer, in either direction, our migration team handles the move without losing your data or your deliverability.

/ Frequently Asked Questions
Q.01 What is the best alternative to Klaviyo? +
/ Answer
For most Shopify stores that want something cheaper and simpler, Omnisend is the closest like-for-like alternative. For simple newsletters, Mailchimp or MailerLite. For SMS-first brands, Attentive or Postscript. For app-heavy enterprise brands, Braze or Iterable. For large retailers wanting a managed-service relationship, Listrak. The right answer depends on why you are leaving, not on a ranking.
Q.02 Who is Klaviyo's biggest competitor? +
/ Answer
It depends on the job. For small ecommerce stores it is Mailchimp and Omnisend. For SMS it is Attentive and Postscript. At enterprise scale it is Braze, Iterable and Salesforce Marketing Cloud, with Listrak for large retailers. For B2B and sales-led teams it is HubSpot and ActiveCampaign. For Shopify brands, Omnisend is the closest like-for-like alternative, and it advertised a free migration offer for switching brands on its pricing page as of September 2026.
Q.03 Is there a free alternative to Klaviyo? +
/ Answer
Several tools have free plans: Omnisend (250 contacts, 500 emails a month), Mailchimp (250 contacts), MailerLite (250 subscribers, 2,500 emails a month) and Brevo (300 emails a day), as of October 2026. Shopify Email gives 10,000 free emails a month. Klaviyo also has a free plan for up to 250 profiles, so small stores can compare like for like.
Q.04 Why do brands leave Klaviyo? +
/ Answer
Usually cost: Klaviyo bills on every emailable profile, and since February 2025 your plan must match that count, so large unengaged lists push the bill up. Other reasons are complexity for small teams and wanting a specialist for SMS. Before switching, suppress unengaged profiles; that often cuts the Klaviyo bill enough to remove the reason to leave.
Q.05 Is Omnisend cheaper than Klaviyo? +
/ Answer
At small list sizes, usually yes. As of October 2026, Omnisend's Standard plan listed $16 a month for 500 contacts against Klaviyo's $20 for 500 profiles, and Omnisend's Pro plan includes unlimited email, with SMS sold separately from $0.007 a message. The gap narrows as lists grow, and Klaviyo's deeper segmentation often earns back the difference on larger, repeat-purchase stores.
Q.06 Should I switch from Klaviyo? +
/ Answer
Switch if the platform is genuinely wrong for your business: you only send newsletters, you are B2B with a sales team, SMS drives most of your revenue, or you need app-level orchestration. Don't switch if the problem is cost from a bloated list, weak flows or poor deliverability. Those follow you to any platform, and fixing them in Klaviyo is faster and cheaper than migrating.
