Klaviyo vs Listrak (2026): Self-Serve vs Managed Retail

Klaviyo vs Listrak in 2026: published prices against a quote-only model, what Listrak's managed services include, and which retailers each one suits.

Table of contents

Klaviyo is the better choice if you want transparent pricing, control and the biggest ecosystem of apps and agencies, and you have a team or agency to run it. Listrak is the better choice for an established retailer that wants the platform and a managed-service relationship (client success, strategy and campaign execution) from the same vendor.

Listrak and Klaviyo compete for the same retail and ecommerce brands, but they sell in very different ways. Klaviyo is self-serve: published pricing, a free plan, and a huge ecosystem of agencies and apps. Listrak is sold through demos to retailers, with services that can put a strategist and a client success manager alongside the platform.

A note on where we stand: we’re an official Klaviyo partner, so we have a stake. That’s why the cases where Listrak wins are spelled out below, and why every price comes from the vendors’ own sites, checked on 10 October 2026.

Klaviyo vs Listrak Pricing (October 2026)

Listrak doesn’t publish prices. There’s no pricing page, and the routes on its site lead to “Talk to an Expert” or a demo. Services such as strategy and managed execution vary by service tier.

Klaviyo publishes its prices on active profiles, meaning anyone you can email. Monthly list prices in USD, from Klaviyo’s pricing page:

As of October 2026. Klaviyo bills SMS and other mobile messages per message on top. Its Standard support is included; premium support packages start at $500 a month. Above 150,000 profiles, Klaviyo quotes through sales.

The honest comparison is total cost of ownership. A Klaviyo account plus a retention agency and a Listrak contract with managed services are closer in cost than the platform prices suggest. The real question is whether you want the platform and the service from the same company.

Why is Klaviyo so expensive?

Against Listrak, it’s the one you can price before a sales call. It feels expensive because it bills on active profiles, everyone you can email, and since February 2025 your plan has to cover that full count. Retailers with large, old customer files often pay for profiles that never open. Suppress them and the bill drops a tier or more. Every tier is in our Klaviyo pricing guide.

Listrak Is Built for Retailers; Klaviyo Is Built for Ecommerce Generally

Listrak calls itself a “cross-channel personalization platform”, delivering personalised messages across email, SMS, push, web, in-store and newer channels such as RCS from one platform. Underneath is the Listrak Data Platform, a real-time data engine that unifies zero- and first-party data through identity resolution into a single customer view.

Klaviyo calls itself an autonomous B2C CRM. It reported more than 205,000 customers as of 30 June 2026, from small Shopify stores to large brands, with self-serve onboarding, 350+ integrations, and channels including email, SMS, MMS, RCS, WhatsApp and mobile push.

Where Listrak Wins

Managed service from the vendor. Listrak’s services page describes 24/7 priority phone access to a dedicated support expert, a dedicated client success manager, digital strategist alignment, managed campaign execution and a dedicated onboarding manager, depending on service tier. For a retailer without a large in-house CRM team, that’s real value.

Identity resolution for retail. The Listrak Data Platform is built to recognise shoppers across sessions and devices. For high-traffic retailers, recognising more anonymous visitors means more triggered messages.

Retail enterprise focus. Listrak’s case studies feature established retail brands, and its roadmap is aimed squarely at that market.

One relationship. Platform, onboarding, compliance help and strategy in one contract.

Where Klaviyo Wins

Transparent, self-serve pricing. You can see the price, start free and scale without a sales cycle.

Ecosystem. 350+ integrations and the largest pool of agencies, freelancers and in-house operators in ecommerce. Hiring for Klaviyo is easier, and switching agencies doesn’t mean switching platforms.

Speed to value for Shopify brands. Connect the store, and the flow library and pre-built emails give you working welcome, cart and post-purchase flows quickly.

Predictive analytics and AI tools. Predicted lifetime value, churn risk and expected next order date, plus AI tools for segments, email and campaigns. See Klaviyo AI features, tested.

Wider channel set. Klaviyo lists WhatsApp alongside email, SMS, RCS and push; Listrak’s platform page doesn’t mention WhatsApp, as of October 2026.

Brands of every size. Klaviyo fits a $500K Shopify store and a $100M brand. Listrak is designed for established retailers.

Pros and Cons

Klaviyo

Pros

  • Published pricing and a free plan
  • 350+ integrations and the biggest talent pool in ecommerce email
  • Predictive analytics and AI tools
  • Fits brands from early stage to large

Cons

  • Strategy and execution are on you, your agency, or a paid support package
  • Less focus on identity resolution for anonymous traffic
  • Cost rises with every active profile, engaged or not

Listrak

Pros

  • Managed services from the vendor: client success, strategy, campaign execution
  • Identity resolution built for high-traffic retail
  • 24/7 priority support on its service tiers

Cons

  • No published pricing: demo and contract only
  • Designed for established retailers, not small brands
  • Smaller ecosystem of independent agencies and apps

What are the weaknesses of Klaviyo?

Against Listrak, the weakness is service: Klaviyo gives you the platform, and someone else has to run the programme. Its identity resolution for anonymous visitors is also less of a focus. More generally, cost rises with active profiles, SMS is billed on top of email, and default attribution windows can flatter email if left unchanged. Our Klaviyo review goes through each one.

When to Choose Listrak

  1. You’re an established retailer that wants the vendor to run the programme with you. Managed execution and strategy from the platform provider suit teams with limited in-house CRM capacity.
  2. Anonymous traffic is your biggest untapped audience. With high site traffic and low identification rates, Listrak’s identity resolution focus is worth evaluating.
  3. You run on Adobe Commerce or Salesforce Commerce Cloud with an enterprise buying process, and prefer a contract with service commitments.

When to Choose Klaviyo

For most ecommerce and DTC brands, especially on Shopify:

  • You want transparent pricing and no sales cycle
  • You have an in-house marketer or a Klaviyo agency to run the account
  • You want the largest integration ecosystem and talent pool
  • You want predictive analytics and AI tools without an enterprise contract
  • You want a platform that scales from early stage to large

Who is Klaviyo’s biggest competitor?

It depends on the segment. For small and mid-size ecommerce brands it’s Omnisend and Mailchimp; for SMS, Attentive and Postscript; for enterprise and large retail, Listrak, Braze and Iterable. Listrak competes most directly for established retailers that want a managed-service partner. Our Klaviyo alternatives guide compares them all, and Klaviyo vs Braze vs Iterable covers the enterprise end.

Migration Either Direction

Listrak to Klaviyo: Profiles, consent status and suppression lists transfer. Flows and templates are rebuilt in Klaviyo (a good time to rebuild them better). SMS subscribers need consent records preserved, and sending domains need warming. Typically four to eight weeks for a mid-size retailer. Plan it well away from peak season.

Klaviyo to Listrak: The same constraints in reverse. Listrak’s onboarding team handles implementation as part of its services.

Our migration team runs moves to Klaviyo without losing historical data or deliverability.

Practical Recommendation

Shopify and DTC brands of any size: Klaviyo. The ecosystem, pricing transparency and speed to value win.

Large retailers with limited in-house CRM resource that want one vendor for platform and strategy: Listrak is worth a demo. Compare its quote with Klaviyo plus a specialist agency, on total cost and on who is actually doing the work.

Retailers already on Listrak and happy with the service: don’t switch for the sake of it. Switch when you want more control, more integrations or a lower total cost than your contract delivers.

If you’re weighing the two and want an independent view of what your programme should be earning, our free Klaviyo audit gives you the numbers, and our Klaviyo agency team can show what the self-serve route looks like with a partner running it.

/ Frequently Asked Questions

Q.01 What is the difference between Klaviyo and Listrak? +

/ Answer

Klaviyo is a self-serve B2C CRM with published pricing, a free plan and 350+ integrations, run by your own team or an agency. Listrak is a cross-channel personalisation platform for retailers, sold through demos, with services that can include a dedicated client success manager, a digital strategist and managed campaign execution. Both cover email, SMS and push on top of a customer data layer.

Q.02 Is Listrak cheaper than Klaviyo? +

/ Answer

You can't tell without a quote: Listrak doesn't publish prices, and its site leads to a demo request. As of October 2026, Klaviyo's email plan is $150 a month at 10,000 active profiles, $720 at 50,000 and $1,380 at 100,000, with SMS billed per message and premium support packages from $500 a month. Compare Listrak's quote with Klaviyo plus the agency or in-house time you'd need, since Listrak's price usually includes services.

Q.03 Is Listrak a CRM? +

/ Answer

Listrak describes itself as a cross-channel personalisation platform. Its data platform unifies first-party data with identity resolution into a single customer view, which gives it CRM-like customer profiles for retail marketing. It isn't a sales CRM with deals and pipelines. Klaviyo positions itself similarly, as a B2C CRM for consumer brands.

Q.04 Does Listrak work with Shopify? +

/ Answer

Yes. Listrak has a Shopify app and also integrates with Adobe Commerce (Magento), BigCommerce and Salesforce Commerce Cloud. Klaviyo integrates with all of these plus WooCommerce and others, with a larger library of third-party app integrations.

Q.05 What are the weaknesses of Klaviyo compared with Listrak? +

/ Answer

Klaviyo doesn't run your programme for you: strategy and execution come from your team, an agency, or a paid support package. Its identity resolution for anonymous visitors is less of a focus than Listrak's. More generally, cost rises with every active profile, SMS is billed on top, and default attribution windows can flatter email if left unchanged.

Q.06 Who is Klaviyo's biggest competitor? +

/ Answer

It depends on the segment. For small and mid-size ecommerce brands, Omnisend and Mailchimp. For SMS, Attentive and Postscript. For enterprise and large retail, Listrak, Braze and Iterable. Listrak competes most directly for established retailers that want a managed-service partner rather than a self-serve tool.
