Checkout Champ Review 2026: Pricing, Features and Who It's For
Checkout Champ review from an official partner agency: what it is, $300 a month plus 1% pricing, features, Shopify fit, security, billing terms and who should skip it.
Table of contents
Checkout Champ gets searched a lot and reviewed very little. Most of what ranks is Checkout Champ’s own site, social profiles and integration pages. This review covers what it is, what it costs, where it earns its fee and where it doesn’t.
Disclosure: Email Optimize is an official Checkout Champ partner, and our founder Pete Devkota appeared on the Checkout Champ podcast. Read this knowing that. It’s also why we’re specific about who should not use it. Every price and feature below was checked on checkoutchamp.com and its help centre in September 2026.
The short answer
Checkout Champ is built for DTC brands that sell through funnels and paid traffic and make real money on upsells, order bumps and subscriptions. At $300 a month plus 1% of gross sales, with a $50K-a-month sales floor on the Growth plan, it pays when a higher checkout conversion rate and extra average order value are worth more than the 1%.
It’s the wrong tool for small stores, for brands whose customers convert well on Shopify’s own checkout, and for teams with no one to build and test funnels.
What is Checkout Champ?
Checkout Champ is a checkout and sales funnel platform. You keep your store (Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce or Magento) and route buyers through Checkout Champ’s checkout pages and funnels instead of the store’s default checkout. Checkout Champ describes the approach as working with your existing ecommerce checkout rather than replacing your store.
What it adds on top of a standard store checkout:
- Custom checkout pages and funnels, built in a drag-and-drop builder
- One-click upsells and order bumps, so buyers can add items after or during checkout without re-entering card details
- Subscription billing for recurring products
- A/B and split testing of checkout pages
- Multi-currency checkout (it claims over 100 currencies) and multi-store management from one dashboard
- A built-in CRM with customer service tools, order records, partial checkouts and subscription management
- Integrations with payment gateways, fulfilment, fraud, tax, SMS and email platforms, including Klaviyo, Postscript and Recharge
Checkout Champ’s homepage claims its checkouts convert at 20–30%, against 2–3% for a typical storefront, and that it processes more than $7B a year. Treat the conversion figure as a vendor claim: a funnel checkout that receives already-committed buyers will always show a higher rate than a whole storefront, so compare like with like on your own traffic.
How much does Checkout Champ cost?
As of September 2026, Checkout Champ has two published plans:
| Growth | Enterprise | |
|---|---|---|
| Platform fee | $300/month | $300/month |
| Transaction fee | 1% of gross sales | Reduced, volume-based rate |
| Monthly sales | $50K+ | $1M+ |
| Checkouts and funnels | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Support | 14-day client success support | Dedicated client success manager, platinum support |

What that means in practice on the Growth plan:
| Monthly gross sales | Platform fee | 1% of sales | Monthly cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| $50,000 | $300 | $500 | $800 |
| $100,000 | $300 | $1,000 | $1,300 |
| $250,000 | $300 | $2,500 | $2,800 |
| $500,000 | $300 | $5,000 | $5,300 |
These are Checkout Champ’s own fees. Payment processing is paid separately to your gateway or merchant account, as it is on any platform.
A few pricing details worth knowing:
- No per-seat or per-funnel charges. Checkout Champ says there are no extra charges for additional funnels, domains or users.
- Some plugins are billed separately, including PAAY 3DS, Fraud Manager, Clym.io and Account Updater.
- No free trial is advertised. Onboarding runs through an account manager and a kickoff call.
Billing terms to read before signing
Checkout Champ’s billing policy is strict, and it’s worth knowing before you commit:
- Subscription and service fees are non-refundable and not prorated. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Cancellation is requested from your account dashboard.
- Payments 15 or more days late incur a $30 late fee plus interest of 1.5% a month, and accounts can be suspended 10 days past due.
- There is a $50 chargeback processing fee on Checkout Champ’s own invoices.
None of that is unusual for B2B software, but “non-refundable, not prorated” means a trial month is a paid month.
Is Checkout Champ secure?
Checkout Champ states that it is PCI Level 1 certified, the highest tier of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, and claims 99.9% uptime. PCI Level 1 is what you should expect from any platform handling card data at volume. If you run it on your own merchant accounts, confirm with your processor how 3D Secure and fraud screening will be handled, since 3DS and fraud tools are separate plugins.
Checkout Champ vs Shopify’s checkout
This is the real decision for most brands, because Checkout Champ usually sits on top of a Shopify store.
Where Checkout Champ is stronger:
- Upsells and order bumps. Checkout Champ’s own comparison argues Shopify’s standard checkout lacks built-in upsell functionality, and that is the main reason brands add it. One-click post-purchase offers are where the AOV gains come from.
- Funnel control. Custom checkout pages per offer, per traffic source or per product, with split testing.
- Subscriptions and billing across merchant accounts, for brands that need more control over payment routing than one gateway allows.
- Partials. Its CRM captures people who started checkout and stopped, which gives your email and SMS programme a list to work with (more on that below).
Where Shopify’s own checkout holds up:
- Buyers who already use accelerated wallets. Before switching, ask how Shop Pay, Apple Pay and PayPal will appear on your new checkout, and test conversion on your own traffic rather than trusting either side’s benchmarks.
- Simplicity. One platform, one set of reports, no percentage fee on top of Shopify’s plan.
- Small catalogues with low AOV, where there isn’t enough upsell room to cover 1% of sales.
The practical test: on the Growth plan, Checkout Champ’s total fee works out to 1.6% of sales at $50K a month, 1.3% at $100K and about 1.1% at $250K. If upsells, bumps and any conversion gain would add more gross profit than that, and you have the traffic to test it, Checkout Champ is worth a trial month. If not, stay on Shopify’s checkout.
Where Checkout Champ earns its fee
- Funnel-led DTC brands on paid social, sending traffic to offer pages rather than a browse-heavy store
- Supplement, beauty and health brands with subscription and continuity offers
- Brands doing $50K to $1M+ a month that have outgrown a single checkout and want to test offers per channel
- Multi-store operators who want one dashboard across brands and currencies
Who should skip it
- Stores under $50K a month. The Growth plan is priced for brands above that line.
- Brands with no funnel or CRO resource. The value comes from building and testing offers. Without that, you pay 1% for a checkout that behaves like the one you had.
- Browse-heavy stores with big catalogues, where most buyers build a cart across many products and the upsell moment matters less.
- Anyone who needs a free trial. There isn’t one, and fees are non-refundable.
Independent review volume is thin. At the time of writing, Checkout Champ had a single review on Capterra, so talk to current users in your category before you commit.
What Checkout Champ means for your email and SMS
This is our part of the stack, so it’s where we have the most to add.
Checkout Champ integrates with Klaviyo and sends server-side events for Started Checkout, Placed Order, Ordered Product, Fulfilled Order, Cancelled Order, Refunded Order and Subscription Restarted, plus a cart link for abandoned checkout flows. That means your abandoned checkout, post-purchase, shipping and subscription flows can all run off Checkout Champ data. Our Checkout Champ and Klaviyo setup guide covers the settings and the flows to build.
The partials list is the part most brands underuse. As Pete told Matt on the podcast, partials are people whose reason to buy hasn’t fired yet. A good abandoned checkout flow gives them one. Read the full Checkout Champ BFCM email playbook for how we work that list.
If you’re moving to Checkout Champ and want your email programme rebuilt around it, book a free audit. We’ll map which flows need to move to Checkout Champ events and check nothing double-counts.
